Zinc & Aluminium Casting
Two of the most popular materials used in precision die casting are Zinc and Aluminium.
Our mastery of die casting enables us to produce intricate and complex parts with exceptional precision and detail. From automotive components to consumer electronics, we leverage the unique properties of both Zinc & Aluminium to create lightweight, durable, and high-performance products.
HIGH PRESSURE DIE CASTING
High-pressure die casting starts with meticulously crafted steel molds, divided into cavity and core sections. Molten Aluminum or Zinc alloy is then forcefully injected into the cavity under hydraulic pressure. As the metal cools rapidly, the mold opens, releasing the solidified part. Excess material, known as flash, is trimmed off, followed by post-processing steps like machining and surface finishing. Rigorous inspection guarantees each part meets stringent quality standards, ensuring precise, high-volume production.
What is Zinc Die Casting & Why use it?
These are the most widely used material in die casting and include various compositions such as Zamak 3, Zamak 5, and Zamak 7. Zamak alloys typically contain a combination of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper, offering good mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and surface finish. Zamak 3, the most common zinc-based alloy, typically consists of approximately 96% zinc, 4% aluminum, 0.04% magnesium, and traces of copper. This composition contributes to its exceptional casting characteristics, including high fluidity, minimal shrinkage, and precise replication of intricate details.
What is Aluminium Die Casting?
Aluminum die casting typically uses aluminum alloys such as A380, A383, A360, and ADC12. These alloys are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and exhibit excellent machinability. Common alloying elements include silicon, copper, magnesium, and zinc, which impart various properties to the final castings. Aluminum die castings offer a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for applications where weight reduction is critical, such as automotive and aerospace components.
